A matter of intelligence …
“Early in the morning, I want to pick you up
Your Voice to hear, Your Love to feel,
Reach out to Your Altar,
And Pour my heart over Your Altar… ”
When we love our fellow man, we forget ourselves, because to love is to give and it values our stay here on earth. When we do this, we are glorifying God and proceeding according to the Divine character.
We can recognize this in the Words of Jesus: “By this shall all men know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13.35)
We can clearly understand His goal for humanity. Moreover, when we do this, we avoid the conflicts that constantly surround mankind and which cause innumerable evils. That is, if we love our fellow man, we are indirectly loving ourselves because we make our private world full of peace.
Loving one another is a matter of intelligence rather than a spiritual obligation; the benefits are greater for those who love than for those who are loved, because: “… more blessed is to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)
